Hi all....Im sat here totally shaking because I feel as though Im going to explode. Its been the same since I was fitted with my copper coil. Its made my periods very heavy, incredibly painful and long...but the worst things is that I am so so hormonal up to 10 days before, all during(usually 7-8 days and then a couple of days afterwards. So Im literally spending 20 days of each month feeling as though I want to scream, run away, or worse. Its impacting a lot on everyone and I know people are avoiding me when Im like it. It doesnt help that I have 2 very big emotional stresses in my life...one being the problems Ive been having with Josh recently (refer to my lastest blog) and the other is the mind numbing, bang my head on the wall ongoing war with my boyfriend ex over his kids. These are only intensified when Im feeling like this. Im currently looking for a job because being at home 24/7 is doing my nut in as well but Im wondering if Ill be able to keep one the way I am. Does anyone know of anything that might help me with this as Im at a loss what to do?

Hi Niki, just read my magazine in the bath, and I came across this advertisement, it has Lisa Curry, Olympian recommending a product called 30 plus and she has a spiel aout Hormone Hell.

there are three other women giving their views of the product and will type these down for you.
But the contact details on the ad are: ph 0800657876, email infor@phealth.co.nz distributed by Pharma Health NZLtd and another address is www.pharmahealth.co.nz

SEVERE DISSATISFACTION

i'VE BEEN TAKING 30 plus for well over year now. my poor husband just culdn't win. More often than not I thought I wanted a divorce. I was suffering a dreadful unexplained severe dissatisfaction with my life. To say I was cranky just doesn't cover it and I had trouble with my focas and general brain function. 30PLUS has made the biggest difference to my life. It has saved my marriage. It has helped my career. I generally carry a sheet of 30PLUS with me all the time so I can take it at work if I forget at home. My husband has no problem bringing me a glass of water to take whait I have come to refer to as my "anti-cranky-bitch" pills. There just aren't words enough to thank you. Sue

FELT LIKE SCREAMING

30PLUS HAS CHANGED My life dramatically. Thank you. I know there are a lot of women out there that could benefit from 30PLUS. You are only kidding yourself if you have women's problems and you don't research help. I totall believe in 30PLUS, Leigh, Coromandel, N.Z.

After having my children, aged 3 and 2, I developed severe PMT (of which I didn't suffer from before kids). Like you Niki, I would get highly emotional and aggressive (not normally my nature) for 10 days before my period, impacting mostly on my relationship with my kids. I joined a program called Mass Attack, which is more about controlling hormones to lose weight, but felt I needed to get my hormones back in balance with diet (avoiding particular foods etc) and naturopathic supplements, based on a comprehensice questionnaire filled out. The program is excellent, and, if strictly followed, showed a definate improvement in PMT. I, however, was not very strict at avoiding the foods I needed to avoid, nor remembering to take supplements (5 sorts). It was also too expensive for me to continue.
I have since been to the GP and have been put on Yaz contraceptive pill being prescribed for severe PMT called, something like, Premenstral psychosis - sounds scary, but just means severe PMT impacting on ability to function in normal everyday life for some part of menstral cycle - I am a very normal, everyday person who just happens to get a bit cranky! Good results, much more balanced and calm after 2 months. Is expensive but, in Australia, can claim it on private health if prescribed for something other than contraception.
I wanted to try natural hormone balance first, but feel this is a better way to go.
I have made dietary changes - the biggest being avoiding sugar (nothing new here) but have noticed a big change, as I don't have the big swings in blood sugar levels.
Good luck with whatever to decide to do - biggest thing is recognising that something needs to be done. Smile

Thanks for your suggestions. The pill is a no no for me Im afraid as im intolelent to any sort or hormonal contraception.....thats why Ive been stuck with copper coil after years of trying everything. I will look in to premenstral psychosis and I think maybe I shouild visit my GP to get his opinion. Im so bad at the moment...had the biggest row with my partner last night over the TV!! Silly really but called me a hormonal bitch and I just saw red!! So I need to sort this soon.

Hi,
Sorry syndrome is called Premenstral Dysphoric Disorder, or PMDD; not premenstral psychosis. (I could just remember there were 'y's, 'o's and 'i's.

Thanks Liz...I looked it up yesterday and it referred it. I went to the GP this morning and he said I am possibly suffering from that. However the medical treatments are useless to me....they are either the contraceptive pill or a type of antidepressant. The pill is an absolute no...the antidepressant would have been ok but Ive only just come off a different before christmas as it was making me dizzy and sick still after months of taking it so I dont want to go on another one as I have a baby to look after. Despite that he did suggest I might try a herbal alternative...so Im taking evening primrose oil and vitamin B6. Hopefully this will have a positive affect. Fingers crossed!

Evening primrose and B6 were also suggested to me to take in conjunction with Pill - I think in a women's multi vitamin - probably a bit like the 30+ talked about above. Fingers crossed for you

Ive had mine for a while now .....since september. I was the same with this only starting after I had my last baby...before that I never got as angry or tearful beforehand. Were trying the vitamins as a last effort to keep the coil in...if I still feel the same next month then weve discussed having it removed and using just condoms for a while. Im just very unlucky when it comes to contraceptives...I seem to be intolerant to anything!

Hi Niki

After reading this thread, I couldn't help signing up in the hopes to respond to your post.
I haven't had the coil or any such contraception ever fitted. I was on numerous contraceptive pills untill I found Yasmin. Although a bit more expensive, me and my husband both agreed that this Pill was the best for me, moods and all. Allthough after having my third baby, I also got my tubes tied! I suffered severe abdomen pains, weight gain, weird periods and worst of all - wait for it.....MOOD SWINGS....
I googled and googled for days, in the hopes to find something that will help me with my severe mood swings. I haven't felt so angry, depressed and irritated in a long long while. I got onto the 30Plus tablets and have been taking them for a week now. I wanted to think that it helped straight away, but didn't want to jinx it! Its been a little over a week, and I can say there is definitley a big difference! I will keep going on them as they reccommend to take it for at least 6 weeks to see and feel its effect. I will keep you posted. In the mean time I really hope you find something that will ease your situation. Please let us know if you don't mind.
Smile

Hi Nella, I am really interested to hear after your 6 week stint on the 30Plus if they do help, I suggested them to my sister as well, I'll have to catch up with her and see if she has looked into it as well! All the best and look forward to hearing the outcome, cheers, Shells

It would be nice to hear if your sister has taken up the challenge too.
It's been 20days now, and I know it is too soon to say, but I definiteley think they help! Suppose I'll see how I go till the next PMS to see wether I want to kill someone...hiehiehieTongue out
